Dr. Dipnarine Maharaj, MD, FACP

Dr. Dipnarine Maharaj, MD FACP, Medical Director of the South Florida Bone Marrow/Stem Cell Transplant Institute, and Laboratory Director/Founder of Stem Cell Cryobank is regarded as one of the world’s foremost experts on stem cells. After earning his medical degree in Scotland, he worked on the team that pioneered autologous bone marrow transplantation for acute myeloid leukemia, and was subsequently recruited to setup the bone marrow/stem cell transplant program at the University of Miami. Since then he has developed innovative new protocols utilizing regenerative medicine and a patient’s own immune system. Dr. Maharaj is also the Course Director for the Advanced Stem Cell Education Program (ASTEP).

Chris Goodman, Chief Executive Officer, Virgin Health Bank

Christopher B. Goodman holds a strong track record of providing strategic direction and senior leadership within high-tech, scientifically sophisticated, and socially conscientious biotechnology organizations. His extensive senior-level business and operations experience encompasses advanced expertise in biopharmaceutical research, development, commercialization, strategic planning, operations management, and IP generation.

The Chief Executive Officer at Virgin Health Bank, Christopher currently oversees global corporate operations, new business development, marketing and commercial activities, research collaborations, product portfolio expansions, and regulatory framework. He began his time with Virgin Health Bank as the Director of Operations in 2010, during which time he managed the successful design, build, and launch of a new state-of-the-art cGMP facility in the Middle East six months ahead of schedule.

Prior to Virgin Health Bank, Christopher managed the Detection and Chemistry Assay Development Group for Ventana Medical Systems, a global leader and innovator of tissue-based diagnostic solutions. In this role, he directed overall program goals, optimized resources, and guided technical and product direction in global regulated environments.

Christopher proved his leadership abilities as the Director of Operations for the high-growth Cellular Therapeutics Division of the $1-billion biopharmaceutical company, Celgene. As a senior-level scientist and key member of the executive team, he directed divisional operations and medical affairs and led business and scientific strategic planning.

Additionally, he received his Master’s Degree in Cytogenetics from Hofstra University and is a Trained Inspector by the Foundation for Accreditation of Cellular Therapy, Trained Assessor by the AABB, and Designated Individual to the Human Tissue Authority.
